 I had the awesome privledge of being the birth attendant in this sweetheart's birth.

Along with education and helping Mom and Dad give birth gently and peacefully at home

in the water, I also was able to do one of my most favorite art projects: Placenta Prints. 

Aren't they beautiful?  The placenta is the most amazing organ ever! So many people

miss out on it's beauty and symbolism when it is just thrown away. 

After the birth of my son, we planted his placenta with a little tree we had picked out for him,

the placenta nourishes his tree just like it did him while he was in the womb!

Did you know that in most states you have legal rights to keep your placenta from the hospital?
So it's not just something that home birth families can enjoy. :)
